Opening day 2003,
16 lbs, 5 1/8 inch beard.
BJ and I set up on this
gobbler before daybreak on a
hardwood ridge over looking a
creek bottom. I had roosted the tom
after watching him strutting with a hen
late afternoon the day before. After some
soft calls on a glass call and a flydown
imatation by BJ, the tom was off the roost
and strutting in front of him. With one shot,
at about 40 yds. the tom was down. He
weighed 20 lbs, with an 11 1/4 inch beard
and 7/8 inch spurs. I was proud to
Way to go BJ!!
